Your gift to the Dollars for Blugold Scholars fund will be matched dollar for dollar (up to $12,500!) by the Touchett Family Foundation and Greg Hansen '87. Starting June 22, you can give to take advantage of this amazing opportunity to DOUBLE your impact!
Tom Touchett '79, his wife Sue, and Greg Hansen '87 are passionate about supporting our next generation of Blugolds, while also encouraging others to do the same. Join them in providing scholarships for future Blugolds with a gift to the Dollars for Scholars fund now, and they will match your gift!
WHY GIVE TO THE DOLLARS FOR BLUGOLD SCHOLARS FUND?
High school seniors had their worlds turned upside down as the COVID-19 pandemic stripped away their prom, graduation ceremonies, and senior year memories.
Now, the same students are worried about how they will afford college this year.
Your gift to the Dollars for Blugold Scholars Fund provides scholarships for students who want to become Blugolds, scholarships that could be THE determining factor in their ability to attend UW-Eau Claire.
Give to support the student whose family has been forced to spend her college fund on mortgage payments and bills just to get by.
Give to support the student who has dreamed of becoming a Blugold, but isn't sure if he can afford to leave home to attend UW-Eau Claire.
Give to support the student who was working to save for college, but has lost weeks of work through no fault of her own.
OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT EQUITY, DIVERSITY, AND INCLUSIVITY
We recognize that amidst the current and historic circumstances of injustice for oppressed identities, people are exploring new ways of directing their dollars to help groups that are so often marginalized in our society. Many of the scholarships funded through Dollars for Blugold Scholars will go to students of color for whom the extra financial support makes the difference between the ability to pursue higher education or not.
However, we also want to share the opportunity to give to the Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity Program Support fund, which directly finances initiatives led by the EDI and Student Affairs (EDISA) division. We are proud that this fund has already played a significant role in supporting the establishment of the Black Cultural Center on campus.
Our Vice Chancellor for EDISA Dr. Warren Anderson has also identified action steps around academic and social enhancements, police training and engagement, and EDI training and development. Gifts made to the Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity Program Support fund will directly enhance the work on campus that he leads. This is the work that all of us must do as we work urgently toward a more inclusive UW-Eau Claire.
