Honors College
Who We Are
The Mark Stephen Cosby Honors College is a welcoming, engaged learning community for high-achieving students from all majors. Students can choose from a wide variety of innovative courses only offered in Honors, take advantage of unique leadership and research options, and become part of a vibrant community. Our goal is to create opportunities that will help Blugolds develop intellectually, personally, and professionally.
What We're Fundraising For
This year, we're focusing on raising funds for our Honors Catalyst Program. This week-long program was designed for first-year honors students to ease the transition to college and develop a deep sense of community, intellectual curiosity, and inspiration among both the first-year students and the student mentors that lead the initiative.
Matching Gift Opportunity
All gifts to the Mark Stephen Cosby Honors College will be matched until $2,000 has been matched thanks to Matt Berg '95 and Rebecca Berg '96!

Hear from our first Honors Catalyst Participants
“I am so grateful for the Catalyst program. I didn't know anyone coming to college, but being a part of Catalyst helped me make so many new friends and really jumpstarted my college experience. It also helped me learn more about what being in the honors college means and the opportunities that come with that.”
Lily Moon, Catalyst Participant

"The Honors Catalyst program was an incredible way for me to make lasting friendships right from the start, as well as meet many acquaintances that I now see throughout the day. It also helped me get familiar with the campus and dorm life, and it gave me a head start on preparing myself mentally and organizationally for when classes started. I would recommend anyone in Honors to give the Catalyst program a try; it's a super fun week that fills you with lasting friendships and memories."
Jonas Sackmann Van Hoof, Catalyst Participant

“I was able to connect with a student during Catalyst due to language interests. Now, we, along with a few others outside of Catalyst, meet every Tuesday to practice speaking, writing, and reading Japanese. They are a native Japanese speaker who was looking to learn more Kanji, and we are Japanese learners hoping to practice listening and speaking so it works out perfectly. I am so happy that we are able to connect on something outside of Honors as well as that we can both work to improve each other.”
