Communication Sciences and Disorders - Matching Gift Opportunity!
Gifts to the Communication Sciences and Disorders Fund support student clinicians to travel to community locations for hands-on learning opportunities and the necessary equipment, such as audiometers and speech-language testing materials, to complete these community-based experiences.
A generous Blugold couple is matching all gifts to the Communication Sciences and Disorders Advancement Fund dollar-for-dollar up to $1,500. Make your gift on Giving Tuesday and double your impact!
The Communication Sciences & Disorders department provides free speech-language pathology services to individuals from the community to provide clinical training opportunities for both graduate and undergraduate students. Within the Center for Communication Disorders, clients of all ages experience meaningful interactions with student clinicians to grow their communication skills.
For example, a preschool music group offers children a chance to play and learn while the CSD students gain skills in providing speech-language therapy and managing group interactions. The CSD department is committed to providing authentic learning opportunities for our students within community settings, which often involves traveling to regional elementary schools to complete kindergarten hearing and speech-language screenings.
