UWEC Giving Day 2025

Gary Withers ’79 and his wife, Lori Withers, have enjoyed the tradition of challenging alumni on Giving Tuesday with their Excellence Fund match challenge. What began in 2019 as a $10,000 match has now grown. Gary and Lori have once again stepped forward to encourage alumni participation and will be matching all donations up to $25,000 made to the UW-Eau Claire Excellence Fund! Your donation to the Excellence Fund will support areas of greatest need at UWEC, including scholarships, research opportunities, strong academic programs and other high-impact experiences. Start your day off excellently with Gary and Lori by making a donation towards the Excellence Fund!

Alum Eric Wan is challenging students to get involved on Giving Day by participating in an on-campus food drive for the Campus Harvest Food Pantry. Student organizations can take part by dropping off food donations at the pantry, and the organization with the highest total will win a pizza party. In addition, for every item donated, Eric will contribute $1 to the Campus Harvest Food Pantry. Help ensure no Blugolds go hungry!

Our Blugold impact spans across borders! Last year, we got a gift from ALL 50 STATES on Giving Day and we are aiming to do it again! They've pledged to match the first $100 donated from each state! To sweeten the deal, if we receive contributions from every single state, they will contribute an extra $1,000 to support UW-Eau Claire students! Help us make this a nationwide success!

Students can kick off Giving Tuesday in style! Starting bright and early at 7:30 a.m., students can swing by the fountain to grab some cozy mittens or gloves and a steaming cup of coffee while supplies last.
